Larry Knight Receives the 2011 Cleo Curtis Award

Larry Receives Cleo Curtis Award

The 2011 recipient of the prestigious Cleo Curtis Award was Larry Knight.

This year's Cleo Curtis recipient is an extremely talented person who represents all the qualities of a ceramic educator that Cleo herself displayed. The world has been a palette for this candidate, who has both taught and designed pieces for Duncan and as a freelance teacher in such "exotic" places as Nevada, California, and Oklahoma as well as several overseas countries.

This candidate loves ceramics and this organization and the care shown to students is always evident. A student is not intimidated by the knowledge and talent on display but rather inspired by it. Ceramic education is a top priority with this recipient.

In serving IADCCT, not only as an instrumental organizer of two chapters and holding offices in both, this outstanding candidate has held several positions in IADCCT which include Area Rep, Member at Large, and Vice President.

I am honored, thrilled, and extremely proud to announce the 2011 Cleo Curtis Award winner is our most recent Past President: Larry Knight.
